Isoprene is an atmospheric trace gas that plays an important role in regulating atmospheric chemistry. About 4 % of the global atmopsheric budget sinks into soil each year yet next to nothing is known about isoprene degrading bacteria in soil. With the support of postgrad student Iman Taleb Monica is using a stable isotope probing based approach. Mail: monica.dg14@gmail.com
